Glenelg 150 Years’ Celebration

Residents, visitors and directors shared stories and the history of the Glenelg site while enjoying a BBQ in their garden.

The event, the first across all seven sites to be hosted by the Board of The Cottage Homes Inc celebrating 150 years of the organisation’s history, was very much a festive occasion. Not only did it mark The Cottage Homes’ significant milestone, but it also reinstated the Glenelg community’s long weekend BBQ gathering, which had been missed in recent years.

Long-time resident, Norman Milburn cut a cake and Board Chair, Meredith Wyles spoke of the original ten Cottage Homes and reading room constructed in 1891 at Adelphi Terrace, St Leonards from a bequest of the late Mr H L Vosz – ‘The Vosz Homes.’

The current location at Tod Street Glenelg consists of 24 modern ground and first-level, one- bedroom units.
